TIMBER KITCHEN
A Victorian terraced extension on a steep hill-top site. Maximising every inch of available space in this compact project, we found space for a guest bathroom, concealed a laundry area and linked the living room to the kitchen. Overcoming the challenges of an extension on a steep site, we introduced steps into the kitchen and added a further level-change down to a dining area nook. We made the most of the long views and the connection to the garden by introducing folding sliding doors to the rear. Our sustainable approach to materials created a biophilic space flooded with natural light and the unexpected joy of shadow play throughout the day.
