BEACH SAUNA

Our clients knew how much our Brighton team enjoy the intense heat of a sauna followed by a cold plunge in the sea. They came to us excited to convert their existing overgrown boat house on the pebbles in Pevensey Bay into a luxury beach front sauna with sunken cold plunge tub, outdoor shower and surrounding sunbathing deck. We designed the sauna to be discreet from the outside but also to make the most of the long English channel views when inside. The integrated shower and changing area shelters guests from exposed nature of the site, and tucked behind the sauna is a secure kayak storage area and a sheltered outdoor kitchen with built-in barbeque. We decided to clad the structure in Shou Sugi Ban charred timber to protect it from the elements and mimic the traditional smoke houses synonymous with nearby Hastings and Rye. Construction is underway and is due for completion later this year.
